Saudi Arabia intercepts Houthi missiles near Mecca and Medina

Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense said on Saturday it intercepted two ballistic missiles launched by Yemen's Houthis toward the Mecca and Medina regions, with debris falling in several locations, including Jeddah, Taif, and Rabigh.

This follows a Houthi announcement about attacks on Saudi oil facilities and airports on Saturday, including a Saudi Aramco facility in Yanbu, the Rabigh oil refinery, and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

The terror group's military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, said it also targeted King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, as well as Najran airport and an air base in Khamis Mushait.

Houthi media reports strikes on Sanaa Earlier on Saturday, Houthi-linked Saba News Agency reported that Yemen’s National Commission for Human Rights had condemned Saudi Arabia over strikes in the capital.

The group described a “massacre” in the Asr neighborhood of Sanaa and an attack on a cement factory in the Hamdan district of Sanaa Governorate.

US warns Americans about possible escalation in Middle East The latest round of strikes came amid warnings by the US State Department, which updated its travel advisory notice for Israel on Friday, warning of an increased threat of armed attacks by Iran-backed Houthi terrorists and the potential for a rapid escalation of regional hostilities.

The update did not change Israel's overall travel advisory classification, which remains at Level 3, urging American citizens to reconsider travel due to terrorism and unrest. The existing risk indicators and restrictions on travel to certain areas of the country also remain unchanged.

In its warning on armed conflict, the State Department cited previous Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, including strikes on civilian airports and critical infrastructure that resulted in civilian casualties and major travel disruptions.
